Scripture Series: No Weapon Formed Against Us Card---Get Ready for an Inspiring Challenge at Word Art Wednesday!

Hi there, Crafty people!  It's almost the end of the month and boy, I don't know where the time went.  The more I try to get things done, the more the time is slipping by.  I'm having a hard time catching up.  But when I feel overwhelmed, I just rest in my Savior, Jesus Christ, and He surely give me some peace of mind.

Anyway, we have a great Word Art to share with you for free at Word Art Wednesday (WAW) Blog.  My card features the verse from Isaiah 54:17 which is among my favorites in the Bible. I always speak this promise of the Lord in  my daily life especially after we've experienced the trauma of having been broken into nearly 2 years ago.  If you haven't experienced the same circumstance in life, I don't know how to describe to you how violated we felt and if God didn't sustain us, I don't know how long before our lives would go back to normal.  A few minutes after we discovered what had happened, as we arranged what was left of our belongings back in place, God gave me a word in the midst of my emotional chaos...He said, "Be still and know that I am God!"  (Psalm 46:10a)  In a comforting tone, I heard the voice of the Lord spoke to me and I knew at that perfect moment, He had our backs and He would be the One to fight our battles!  He also gave us Psalm 91 which you need to read.  These promises of God carried us through even to this moment.  I will forever be grateful for all that Jesus has done for us---He has done great things!  This was just one of the many testimonies I can share about the faithfulness of God to those who have put their trust in Him.  Surely, what the Word of God says is true...

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)

This means that though we experience trials in many ways, it's in those times that we learn to trust God more thereby, strengthening our faith in the One Who is able to deliver us.  It's in those trying times that we get to know His goodness, love, power and deliverance that no matter what the world says, no one can take that experience away from us.  We serve an awesome God and anyone who have given their lives to Jesus Christ who have passed through many trials in life can attest to the goodness of our Lord.  He is mighty to save!

So, here's my card featuring the free Word Art.  I used my Paint program to alter the color of the font to match the Sepia color effect that I want to achieve with this creation.  The wonderful image is from Mo Manning Digi Stamps called "Mummu,"  that I colored with my ProMarker/Prismacolor/Spectrum Noir markers.  I used a 5" X 7" pre-cut Kraft card base from Paper Studio Value Pack.  The DP is from My Minds Eye, the heart gems from Imaginisce and the photo corner dies were die-cut with an MS Punch.  I  decided to make this monochromatic card (instead of my colorful, bright colors) because it will give more emphasis to my image and the verse which are both a knock-out.  Combined with stitching all over this card, I am pretty happy with the results.  What do you think?

Scripture Series: Like-Minded One to Another Card---Be Inspired by this Week's Challenge at Word Art Wednesday!

Good Wednesday morning, you guys!  Hope you have a wonderful start of the day whether with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee, I pray for blessing to y'all these days.  For healing to those who are sick in all aspects of life and that the peace of  God touch your lives and restore you in Christ Jesus.  Today, we have another Word Art you can download for free at Word Art Wednesday (WAW) Blog.  It talks about being "like minded" with one another  or to be united with fellow believers of Christ.  The Apostle Paul wrote this letter to the Church (Body of Christ) in Rome to encourage them in the faith and to remind them to show love for one another.  Coming from different backgrounds (Jews and Gentiles), status (rich or poor) and racial backgrounds, it was not easy for believers to unite together.  And like before, we as Christ believers today, may encounter some circumstances that we simply could not agree completely.  Sadly, most of them does not even have to do with our faith but just merely, opinions and preferences.  So, how do we unite? ---The answer is simply by seeking God's Word and studying it diligently so as to have wisdom and understanding.  Knowing that we are not called by God to burden  one another with religious rules of the past but by the newness of Spirit in Christ Jesus---we are to choose wisely our words and always act in love.  It does not mean that everyone will have to like you but having that peace of mind at the end of the day that you obeyed the voice of the Lord to strive towards unity, understanding and love is such a blessing.  Now, for the unbelievers who have not come to the knowledge of Christ yet, we know that we may not be able to establish complete unity with them in the many issues of life because the ways of the world has nothing in common with the ways of the Kingdom.  Yet we are told to love one another that we may witness to those who are outside of the Kingdom what the "Kingdom of God" is truly all about.  I know it is not an easy task but through the guidance and help of the Holy Spirit, we will carry through.

So, here's my inspiration card for today's WAW Challenge.  Since the Word Art  is lengthy, I decided to highlight it to the fullest by adding some color to the essence of the verse.  Then, I colored a very beautiful digi stamp from Kenny K Downloads called, "Color me Janette," with my ProMarker/Prismacolor/Spectrum Noir markers making sure I matched the color of the " pen marker" in the digi with the color I added to the verses, so it looked like the image (girl)  highlighted the verse (very clever, huh!).  I also scribbled the words "Scripture Marker" on the "pen marker" image and I was pretty pleased with how my penmanship looked like it belonged there...LOL.  I used a Kraft CS as base card, cut at 5.5 inches.  The DP's are all from My Mind's Eye and the CS are Ecru (from Core'dinations) and Blue-grey from (Paper Studio).  I die cut the Octagon using the largest of the set from Nestabilities, used a border stamp on one of my panels from EK Success, cut a couple of circles at 4.5" and 4.75" inches using the small MS Circle Cutter.  I inked all my panels using Tim Holtz Distress "Pumice Stone", attached some white gems from Imaginisce, a crochet flower (that I make and sell---check my Etsy shop!) with a brad in the center from my stash and the dotted swirl stamped all over this card is from Inkadinkado.  Finally, the stitching!  I am surprised with my choices of DP's since I always go towards the brighter colors but because I love both the Word Art and the image, I decided the best way to highlight them is to use muted colors and I must say I achieved it!  Hope you like it.

You Are My Sunshine Card---A New Challenge is Up in our Neighborhood at 613 Avenue Create!

It's a glorious Sunday morning and a wonderful day to honor Jesus with our lives.  I am excited to fellowship with other believers all across the world to honor and give glory to our God.  I love Him with all my heart and that is only possible because He taught me how to love first by giving Himself for me and all of humanity.  Just want to share this scripture with you today:

"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because He first loved us." (1 John 4:18-19)

Today, I would love to share with you an inspiration card for our Challenge at 613 Avenue Create.  The theme is "Anything Goes" using Kraft (CS).  The main image is from our sponsor, Bugaboo Digi Stamps,  called Grumpy Gertrude-Fake Plants.  Isn't she funny?  Love the expression on her face!...LOL  I colored her with my Promarker/Prismacolor/Spectrum Noir markers and added some Glossy Accents on her glasses.  I laid her and my panels in a 5.5-inch square Kraft CS and the only DP (in her dress) is from My Mind's Eye.  I embossed with one of my Cuttlebug borders, added some glitters (Stickles-Orange Peel) and incorporated several brads.  The sentiment is from Studio G.  Lastly, I stitched all over this card and made a Kraft envelope box to compliment my creation.  Love the results!

Smiles Across the Miles Travel Card---Get ready for Another MayzyArt Challenge!

Good morning, Crafty guys and gals!  I hope you are enjoying a bit of cool with lots of blue skies day like I do.  From my window, I cannot help but marvel at the wonderful things my Father in heaven has created and I feel loved and secured knowing that He holds my every moment like He does all His creation.  These scriptures came to my mind and I am comforted by His promises---ancient yet holds true today and for eternity.

Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah
There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God,
The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High.  (Psalm 46:2-4)

Anyway, today is Mayzy's 30th Birthday so let's all wish her a "Blessed and Happy Birthday."  Because of this, she has a 30% off discount available to all who would want to purchase her digi stamps today.  More details here.

Well, "Romance is in the air" at our new Challenge at MayzyArt and I want to share with you the project I created for that Challenge.  I was inspired by a lot of my travel stamps in putting this project together.  I used one of Mayzy's cutest stamp, "Joan Jetsetter" and colored her with my ProMarker/Prismacolor/Spectrum Noir markers.  My base card is a 5.5-inch square Kraft CS.  The DP's are from My Mind's Eye (Wild Asparagus Collection) and I used the 2 largest Nestabilities large Scallop die for that wonderful shape in the center of my card.  I used my "Love" border stamp from Fiskars together with all the travel stamps from Cloud 9, Scrappy Cat and Paper Company Studio.  The main sentiment is a freebie from Create with TLC which I made into a tag and attached the hemp to---I love it! So, you see, she is such a "Romantic Traveler" making sure she kept her hubby updated wherever she goes.  She wished he's beside her but he needed to take care of the family business (LOL...See how my imagination works!).  Lastly, I stitched all over this card.  So, tell me what you think of this creation.

Not a Card But Another Shadowbox Wall Decor: Give Water of Life Freely---It's Time For Another Inspirational Challenge at Word Art Wednesday!

Hello there, guys!  Today is another cold day here in Texas.  The allergens are not fun to deal with at this time of the year and a box of tissue is always nearby yet God is my source of strength and comfort as I made this post today.  Before I came to know Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I was brought up into a religion yet neither my parents were devoted members of it.  I was told that it was a belief system that our families for generations adhered to and though my parents don't completely understand what it's all about, we need to stick to it because it's tradition.  For me, I thought it was the best way to show off my new clothes and some form of spirituality is established making me feel sort of "Godly" in my neighbors eyes.  Yet something in me yearns for something deeper, a void that no amount of worldly possession and relationships seem to fill.  When the storms of life devastated my life and I was at the point of giving up my meaningless life, Jesus came to my rescue by way of a  TV program and He made Himself known to me when I answered His call, opened the door to my heart and allowed Him to dine with me.  I let Him to sit in the throne of my heart and take the Lordship of whatever is left of my life.  In a brief 5 minutes of confessing my faith in Him, He took away my pain, my shame and filled the void in my heart of Himself---the "Living Water" (JESUS---The Very Word of God) and my thirst (spiritual) was satisfied forever.  It was 23 year ago yet it seemed like yesterday.  Everyday, I drink from the Living Word of God--- I am refreshed, satisfied and able to share with others my only Source---Jesus Christ, in Whom all blessing flow!  Just want to share this Scriptures with you:

"He that believeth on me (Jesus), as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." (John 7:38)

"The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." (Isaiah 58:11)

"Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost." (Isaiah 55:1)

Just want to share with you another Wall Decor project I made for this week's Challenge at Word Art Wednesday (WAW).  I used the "Tropical Falls" image from Make It Crafty and colored it with my ProMarker/Prismacolor/Spectrum Noir markers.  The DP's are from K & Company (including the butterfly die-cut) and Paper Studio.  I used Kraft CS for base and mats.  The background stamp on the base DP is from Hot Off the Press.  To finish it all up, I added a hint of glitter (Stickles) on the image and stitched all over this card.  I hope you find some inspiration about what I shared with you in my creation.  As always, feel free to download the Word Art at WAW Blog, incorporate it in your project and link it to our Challenge.  If you have other projects with uplifting messages, you can enter that too (up to 5 entries per participant).  We have an "Anything Goes" Theme so , you can be as creative as you can.   I could not wait to see what you all come up with.

Scripture Series: Not a Card but a Shadowbox Wall Decor---Create in me A Clean Heart Framed Art...Join us for an Inspiring Challenge at Word Art Wednesday!

Hi everyone.  It's another beautiful Wednesday morning created by the Lord for all of us to bring praises to His Name.  I can't believe one week already passed from my last project post for Word Art Wednesday (WAW).  Time is surely passing by too quickly so we need to make the most of it serving the Lord in any area He entrusted us with and bring all nations to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.  Today, we have a nice Word Art for you to download for free at WAW.  It talks about one of the psalms that King David sang to God after he'd fallen into sin,  committed adultery in his heart and taking Bathsheba from her husband while he made sure he got killed in battle.  We hear stories like this in our time and we think, David needed to be punished for what he has done.  The Bible says in Romans 6:23:  "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." David knows the degree to which he'd fallen but it didn't stop him from coming to the throne of God and plead for mercy, forgiveness and cleansing.  Let us not forget that David is a King but he knew where His true power came from.  It's from the throne of God Who can take it away from him anytime.  Not only that, but he had an intimate relationship with his Father God that even at that moment of shame, he humbled himself before Him.  That tells me how David knew the God whom He served---He is a God Who cannot tolerate sin but is a loving and merciful God that responds to repentance and a humble heart.  Oh yes, let us not forget the other half of the verse in Romans 6:23..."but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we entered into a New Covenant with the Father.  How much more does grace abound these days after the Lord Jesus took the wages of our sin to Himself and set us free from the power of death.  I can't tell you how excited I am to be living in this period of grace when Jesus' blood obliterates all our sins by simply coming to Him with a repentant heart, humble enough to allow Him to live inside of us as our Lord and Savior.  Yes, He has given us "eternal life"---it is a free gift---meaning there's nothing we can do in it ourselves to attain it!  Only by having a personal relationship with Him through a new birth (John 3:3) can we avail of it...By accepting what Jesus did on the Cross as a payment for our sins (past, present and future), once and for all (encompassing anyone who will believe).  It reminds me of this old hymn---the lyrics still lives in my heart because it's all true in my life:

He paid the debt, He did not owe.
I owe the debt, I could not pay.
I needed Someone to wash my sins away.
And now I sing a brand new song, Amazing Grace!
Christ Jesus paid the debt that I could never pay.

I hope this inspires you to get to know Jesus in a personal way, if you have not done so yet.  Anyway, here's the project I made to inspire you for this week's Challenge at WAW.  I've been wanting to do the Shadowbox wall decor for over a year now hence, I bough several of those 8" X 10" frames at Michael's a year ago when they were on sale.  I am so glad that finally, I got to use one of them...LOL  So, I colored the cute Gilly's Bike image from Prairie Fairy Designs using my ProMarker/Prismacolor/Spectrum Noir markers and added Glossy accents to her eyeglasses (Oh, she's so adorable!).  All the DP's are from Paper Studio "Tattered and Worn" collection and used a Kraft CS for base and mats.  I altered the color of the Word Art by using Paint program just to match my design (Diane Noble of Daydream Designs has a nice tutorial about this in her site), stamped the flower image (from Ditto stamps) in a couple  of DP's, cut each layer and placed them altogether in alternating colors, added brads in the center from Recollections and incorporated several white gems from Imaginisce.  I used a Fiskars punch to achieve that lacy border.  Finally, it was time to stitched them altogether.   I am so happy with the results that I removed one of our wall decor and placed it in my home for display.   Hopefully, I'll be able to make a few more of this till all my shadow boxes are gone...LOL  Now, if I can find a wall to hang them in the future...Well!

I Lost Myself Somewhere Card---Join us at 613 Avenue Create, A New Challenge On the Block!

Hi there, folks! I'm back today for another wonderful Card showcase...This time, we are giving birth to a new Challenge blog called 613 Avenue Create.  Today is our first Challenge and I am proud to be among the first designers to get the ball rolling.  Our sponsor today is no other than Bugaboo Stamps (one of my favorites digi stamps site!) and I made a project out of Grumpy Gertrude-GPS.  This stamp has so much character in it that I could not resist but use it on my first Avenue project.

Well let's see,  everyone knows about what you call a "Senior" moment, right?  It's when you start to become forgetful and a bit disorganized in your thoughts.  While I am not in that age yet, I surely feel like Gertrude in this card at times.  Yes, there were a few times I forgot where I parked my vehicle, have forgotten what I needed to get while I was in a room and walking back and forth just to remember where I have placed something that I thought I hid in a safe place...LOL.  It's funny but oh, so true for many of us...I remember when I was younger and thinking what I will become 30-40years down the road and you know what, I would not change a single thing because everything that happened to me was for a reason.  All those ups and downs of life have made me who I become and the trials of life had made me cry out for a Savior---Jesus Christ! (Romans 8:28) I knew now that if I didn't answer His call when I was 20 years old, I could not have been alive at this day.  My darkened life has been translated into light...My mourning into dancing! (Psalm 30:11) I now have every reason to live and that is to bring glory to the One who saved me---Jesus! (Philippians 3:14)  I know that as I gently age in the body, I am marching strong to the eternal life where He has prepared a place for me.  And oh, what a beautiful place it will be when the time comes.  But for the meantime, I rely on the Lord for every moment, pray for His guidance and rely on His love and grace to carry me through every forgetful moment I encounter...LOL. I want to share with you this scripture:

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light." (1 Peter 2:9)

So, here is my Card...I used ProMarker/Prismacolor/Spectrum Noir to color this cute image.  The base card is Kraft paper cut to make a 5.5 inches square card.  The DP's are from K & Company.  I used the biggest Nesties "Labels One" for the die-cut shape, flowers are from Scrappy Cat that I stamped and cut, other stamped images are from Fiskars and Recollections stamps and the main sentiment (which I think is just so funny!) is a freebie from Ginger's House.  I also used Glossy Accents for the image's glasses to give it more depth and as I always do, I stitch all over this card.  So, what do you think about this creation?

Too Cool Tennis Girl Card---MayzyArt is Back and We Love a Challenge!

Good morning, fellow Crafters!  I can't believe the sun is up...Yes, it's up after a couple of weeks that was just gloomy and pretty chilly out here in Texas.  Just an hour ago, I marveled at the beauty of the sun which we don't usually pay much attention until it didn't show up for many days.  Lord Jesus, I thank you for the beauty of your creation for you did create them to bless us.   In the scriptures written  in Genesis 1-2:3, it is clear that we were created on the 6th day after all other things were created.  The very first day we entered into is the 7th day---the day of rest.  And we all thought differently---that we should try and work as hard as we can before God will provide us with things we need.  Hear the wisdom in God's creation.  God has provided everything we needed to live thus we should rest in the Lord (depend upon Him, rely, live our lives for Him) and then, we do about the task He has assigned us in this world based on the strength, knowledge and purpose He has predestined us to do.  I love this verse in the Bible and just want to share:

"For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse."  (Romans 1:20)

Now that I am inspired by God's wonderful creation, I want to share with you the Card I made for MayzyArt Challenge...Yes, you heard it right---MayzyArt Challenges are back and it runs every 2 weeks starting today!  Now, we can get to play with those wonderful MayzyArt digis, enter them to our Challenges and win a prize...This time, we have the theme "Anything Goes" so, no hang-ups on colors, sketches, kind of project and so on.  You can even join us even if you didn't use a Mayzy image.   Anyway, I made this card through a friend's request.  I used Mayzy's "Tennis" Girl image and colored it with my ProMarker/Prismacolor markers.  The base card is cream colored, size A2.  The DP's are from K & Company.  I use Nesties for the die-cut shape, added a satin ribbon and several gems.  To finish it all up, I stitched all over this card.  So, what are you waiting for?  Head on over to the MayzyArt Blog to join us!

It Is Better to Trust in the Lord Easel Card--Join Us For our First Challenge of the Year at Word Art Wednesday!

Happy New Year, Everybody!  2013 is finally here and like always, I entrust everything unto the Lord!  He has a plan for my life and there is no greater plan than that so, I rest my confidence in Jesus and Jesus alone.  I often wonder why man would trust in anything other than the God who created him.  When we buy a specific item---let's say an electronic device...We buy them specifically for their purpose, right?  We don't buy a dishwasher and use it for laundry nor we buy an oven and use it as a refrigerator.  Although people may intentionally use them for that purpose yet, one cannot expect that they'll get the best out of the product unless it's use for it's purpose.  Pretty much like us...We are created for a specific purpose here on earth and we are to operate under the power of the Holy Spirit (our power source).  Without Him,  we will simply be a useless device.  That reminds me of  the many people who taught they can attain happiness by stardom, wealth and power but a lot of them end up reaching the top and discovering there's nothing there. I submit to you that unless a person discovers the path to God's purpose in His life, nothing will satisfy.  We may imitate and act like somebody but until you recognize who you really are in Jesus Christ, your life will remain empty.

So, today, I would like to share with you the card I made out of the free Word Art we have for you to download at Word Art Wednesday (WAW).  It's about trusting in the Lord and not in man (Psalm 118:8).  It's sad because we see more and more people trusting in what government can do for them in calamities instead of calling on the Lord in whom all blessings flow.  We see this everyday in the news, people putting their trust in man and not in God.  I pray that we listen to what God said in 2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."---If we take this verse to heart and do what God told us to do, we shall see the healing of this nation in a profound way...Why?  Because He is TRUE to His every word (Numbers 23:19).   If we put our trust in man, we are destined to fail for NO MAN IS PERFECT.  Heed the warning the scriptures had to say about trusting in man...

"This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord.  That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes.  They will dwell in the parched places of the desert,  in a salt land where no one lives." (Jeremiah 17:5-6)

Anyway, one of our sponsors this week is Eureka Stamps and is kind enough to allow us to use some of their images to highlight this week's project.  I chose this "tree image" and added some gems to it for a bit of bling...I used a white CS cut at 5.5-inch card base.  I incorporated a textured white CS and embossed it with my Cuttlebug for added dimension.  I attached a red/fuschia ribbon together with a black ribbon and included some black brads. Then, I finalize the card with lots of stitching.  The sentiment inside is from CDS Stamps. So, come and join us at this week's Challenge at WAW.  You may enter with 5 different project using uplifting messages or use the featured Word Art this week.  Fabulous prizes awaits the winner and from now on, we will be selecting the Top 3 artwork each Challenge week.   At the end of the month, all these winners will have a chance to win a set of Digi images from Daydream Designs.  Wow, that's more chances to win, right?
